Preparatory Course for Admission to Government School – Primary 4 (E-Learning)
B. Overview
The Preparatory Course is designed to prepare international students to sit
for the Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS) Test to gain
admission into a Singapore Government Primary Schools.
The AEIS Test is conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore.
The AEIS Test involves a centralized test on English and Mathematics and is
held in September/ October of each year. International students who are
successful in the AEIS Test will be assigned by Ministry of Education to join a
Singapore Government School in January of the following year.
The Primary education in Singapore is a 6-year program which students will
sit for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) at the end of Primary
6. Successful students will progress to do the Secondary education.
International students who missed or failed the AEIS Test conducted in
Sep/Oct may sit for the Supplementary Admission Exercise for
International Students (S-AEIS) Test in February / March of the following
year. From 2013 onwards, the S-AEIS Test will not cater for Primary 5 and
Secondary 3 levels.
Applicants who have taken part in AEIS Test previously and were
unsuccessful may apply to take AEIS Test again at the same or higher level,
subject to MOE Terms and Conditions.

a. Course Outline
The course consists of 2(two) subjects taught accordingly to MOE syllabus:
- English
- Mathematics
ENGLISH
Synopsis for Primary 4
The Primary 4 English programme is set to expose students to Primary 3/Primary 4 syllabus preparing them for the Primary 4 AEIS/SAEIS test. By the end of the programme, students will be competent and confident in using the language effectively in both written and spoken. They are also able to interact using different text types. The Primary 4 English subject is based on Ministry of Education Primary 3 and Primary 4 syllabus. For details, please go to Singapore Ministry of Education website.
MATHEMATICS
Synopsis for Primary 4
The Primary 4 Mathematics class is aimed at enabling students to acquire Mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in Mathematics. It also aims to develop the thinking, reasoning, communication and application of learners through a mathematical approach to problem solving. More importantly, it aims to build confidence and foster interest in Mathematics itself. Topics including whole numbers, tables and line graphs, fractions, angles, perpendicular and parallel lines, decimals, time, area and perimeter will be taught progressively to the students. These are the Primary 3 and Primary 4 topics belonging to the latest MOE mathematics syllabus. A
Upon successful in the Primary 4 AEIS/SAEIS test, the student will be posted to a Singapore public school at Primary 4 or Primary 3 level.

From 2013 onwards, the S-AEIS Test will be for admission to Primary 2 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2. There will be no admission to Primary 5 and Secondary 3
